The Gold Mark is only awarded to youth organisations that demonstrate they’re a centre of excellence and are committed to continuous improvement through the involvement of young people in their organisational development.
Switch180 is only one of eighteen organisations to have been awarded this esteemed Quality Mark and will receive a £7,000 celebratory award. The London Youth Quality Mark provides organisations with a badge of excellence, recognised by local authorities and funders. The scheme is accredited by City and Guilds and, uniquely, involves young people in the assessment. The Quality Mark has three levels, bronze, silver and gold and the areas of assessment include: partnerships, leadership and management, diversity and outcomes for young people.
Lara Kinnear, Switch180’s Operations Director said: “We are so pleased to have been awarded the Gold London Youth Quality Mark. We have a responsibility to deliver the highest quality youth work to the young people we work with and to know that we are reaching that standard is incredible.”
Sara Stanton, London Youth’s Membership Development Officer said: “Congratulations to Switch180 for achieving your Gold Quality Mark for your programme Snow Camp. The Gold Quality Mark is only awarded to members who demonstrate they a centre of excellence and this was shown throughout the evidence Switch180 collected. Your true dedication to youth leadership and progression was evident in all the courses you run and the case studies were inspiring. Well done again for such a high achievement, it was very well deserved!”
