To celebrate this partnership Switch180 and Les Hôtels d’en Haut organised a very special panel event at the exclusive South Kensington Club in London.
The panel members were:
The panel discussed how sport can help young people to learn and develop the skills needed to prepare them for the future. They spoke passionately about the challenges they have all faced personally and professionally and how they were able to harness their experiences to create positive outcomes, a vital skill that’s relevant for young people.
Our two young people, Hamza and Zulekha have been selected to participate in the ski valets internships and will be spending the season living and working within the ski resort of Val Thorens. They will have the opportunity to channel their potential on the mountains by putting into practice the skills they’ve learnt throughout their Snow Camp. They will experience the demands and challenges of a five-star ski resort in the luxury hospitality industry and will be responsible for assisting guests throughout their stay on the slopes.
A further ten Snow Camp young people have been offered the opportunity to visit Hotel Le Val Thorens for a week in December to show them how life works in the mountains and in an alpine hotel.
It’s through the support our wonderful community and partners that we are able to provide our young people with life changing opportunities. We can’t thank Les Hôtels d’en Haut enough for supporting our young people this winter.
Dan Charlish said: ‘We’re so proud to be partnering with Les Hôtels d’en Haut. They are offering our young people an amazing opportunity to build on the skills they’ve learnt on our programme Snow Camp will help them go onto securing successful careers in the ski industry. We’re extremely grateful for their support and can’t wait for our young people to experience working in such an impressive ski resort.’’
Valéry Grégo, Founder of Les Hôtel’s d’en Haut said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Switch180 on such an exciting and worthwhile project. Seeing their amazing work and their dedication to changing lives made us jump at the opportunity to be involved in any way we could.”
