Having at its heart a genuine desire to give young people valuable and life-enriching snowsport experiences, Club Europe are thrilled to be joining forces with our service Snow Camp in 2020 to celebrate 40 years in the school ski trip industry.
Club Europe, a family-run company founded in 1980, have chosen for the whole of 2020 season, in conjunction with their 40th anniversary, to donate £1 per passenger to Snow Camp with all funds raised directly paying for inner-city young people to join Snow Camp’s 2-day beginner First Tracks course.
Tim Johnson, Club Europe, MD said: “My father started Club Europe in 1980 and I’m thrilled to still be here 40 years later; still a proud family-run company. Snow-Camp share our passion for giving young people enriching life experiences. We hope our support will go some way to supporting the charity in the wonderful work they do.”
Dan Keeley, Community Manager at Switch180 said: “As we approach our 16th winter season as a charity, we’re truly honored to have the support of Club Europe. With our high ambitions to impact over 1000 inner-city young people with the power of snowsports each year, we simply couldn’t do what we do without the support of our snowsport industry partners, none more-so than those who appreciate the power of snowsports to impact the lives of all young people across the UK.”
On top tour booking donations, Club Europe are also commemorating their special anniversary by making a Christmas donation to Snow Camp in 2019 – a fantastic & generous contribution to kick-start the new partnership looking ahead to the new year.
As it was when it started, Club Europe is dedicated to providing young people with first-class ski and snowboarding experiences. All their staff are passionate skiers and are out in resort every season to ensure their trips are a success and to meet their ski leaders, many of whom have skied with them for years.
Club Europe’s ski trips are tailor-made for each group and they offer trips in 7 countries across the world. They are the leading school ski trip operator in Austria, having worked there for over three decades. But wherever you ski, they choose the best spot whether nurturing beginners, challenging experts or a combination – now made even more special knowing every tour booking will help Snow Camp change the lives of many more young people in 2020.
During the Covid-19 pandemic Club Europe has been working tirelessly to support their teachers; many of whom have had to cancel their 2020 school trips. One of the first to be effected were the company’s Easter ski trip students; sadly by then the world was in Lockdown, so none of them got to ski this year.
Since then Club Europe MD, Tim Johnson has personally been in touch with every school who was due to ski with Club Europe over Easter.
“We knew from the beginning of the crisis that our teachers would be massively impacted and needed our support,” said Tim. “We took a head on approach. I have personally been in touch with all our teachers who were due to travel with us this year and I am still available to all of them at any time.
“We worked on a case by case basis; where the school was unable to defer their trip, we worked with them to ensure they got the best outcome, issuing then with the maximum refund that was available. In all cases we came to a joint, mutual decision on the best way forward.
“We like to think that this human approach has strengthened our relationships with our teachers.
“When we world re-opens, there’ll be lots of questions and worries from parents. We will support them, as we’ve always done, every step of the way.”
As the world slowly returns to normality, Club Europe hope to continue their support of Snow Camp in the upcoming 2020/21 winter season.
