We are delighted to have been awarded a Princess Royal Training Award. Our programme Snow Camp is one of forty-eight organisations that has been recognised by the Princess Royal Training Awards Commission (PRTAs) for an award this year. We were honoured to receive our prestigious award from HRH Princess Anne at St James’s Palace in October 2019.
PRTAS was set up by the City & Guilds, a global skills development body, who has been recognising employers, with outstanding training and development programmes for the past four years. Princess Anne, who is the president of the global skills development body announced the winners on her birthday (15th August 2019). All the recipients, which includes businesses from both public and private sector, were subject to a rigorous assessment process, which took place over a seven-month period. Princess Anne was a part of the final judging process, selecting the final award winners who include The Royal Navy, Lloyd’s Bank, IBM and Snow Camp.
Through the PRTAs we saw clear trends in the types of training programmes demonstrating exceptional quality and impact. Apprenticeship programmes have become a mainstay and focus of learning and development for many organisations, just like our own Apprenticeship and Youth Forum.
Our Founder and Director Dan Charlish, Communications Manager Anna Hinks and Apprentice Ebony Knight collected the award from Princess Anne at a spectacular awards ceremony held at St James’s Palace. Guests spent time talking to Princess Anne and celebrated together with afternoon tea.
Anna Hinks, Switch180’s Communications Manager said:
“We’re thrilled to have been awarded a Princess Royal Training Award. It’s an absolute honour to have been recognised for our training and development programmes, especially alongside such respected organisations including The Royal Navy and RBS.”
Chris Jones, Chief Executive of the City & Guilds Group said:
“We were thrilled with the quality and variety of entries this year. The work that HR and L&D teams do to train, upskill and reskill teams is critical; helping individuals to reach their potential and find meaningful employment, while supporting businesses in developing the skills for success, and ultimately producing the productive workforce we so urgently need. The organisations we recognise today all provide compelling evidence that tangibly proves the value that comes from investing in people.”
