City Ski Championships 2018

Switch180 were proud to be the official charity partner for the City Ski Championships 2018 through our programme Snow Camp.

The City Ski Championships weekend, which took place from February 1st-4th, provided Europe‘s business and financial community with an opportunity to network and entertain clients in a personal, fun and relaxed environment, in the midst of exciting ski racing. It was fantastic to see our young person, Jonjoe competing in the Saturday’s race with commentary from our Patron Chemmy Alcott – video below!

For the first time, we introduced a charity Team Distance Challenge to the City Ski Championships Friday schedule. 10 teams of 4 received a top of the range GPS tracker and were tasked with completing the most km’s as possible over a 2-hour period. They could take any route you liked and use any strategy to maximize distance – the only rule was that they had to be on either foot, ski’s or lifts and always together as a team! A big thank you to everyone who took part including our Patrons, Chemmy Alcott and Graham Bell. Congratulations to winners Wilcox Warriors, closely followed by Knight Frank 1 and Oliver’s Dodgers.

Switch180 Founder Dan Charlish said: “The partnership with Momentum Ski has been fantastic for Switch180 and has come at a key time as we expand our programmes nationally. It was great to have two former young people from our programme Snow Camp involved, Jonjoe and Laquan were representing Snow Camp and the Warren Smith Academy. The City Ski Championships is a prestigious event in the snowsports calendar and to be named as charity partner was a real honour.”
