The generous donation from Ski Armadillo, Coolbus and Snow-Forecast will directly support the development of Snow Camp’s growing courses, supporting over 100 inner-city young people over the coming year.
The donation was presented to Andrew Kimber, Switch180 Programme Manager, at the Cardiff Ski & Snowboard Centre by Dan Evans and Nick Russell from Snow-Forecast and Richard Hyett and Robin Kellen from Snowsport Wales.
Dan Evans from Snow-Forecast said “Snow-Forecast.com, founded 20 years ago by 3 lifelong friends from South Wales, are very happy to see how our passion and global presence is being translated into helping snow-related causes as close as 3 miles from our original head office in Cardiff where it all began! Snow Camp rocks, and we’d like to use this opportunity to congratulate Snow Camp on becoming our 2018 UK charity partner. Expect to see a lot more on all our channels about the amazing things they do for disadvantaged young people and the next wave of young people we’re supporting on to their courses.
Dan also said “Our lives definitely changed forever and very much for the better after our first visit to the mountains and we’re so glad to be part of something that will likewise fill young hearts with motivation towards snow and an active life. The donation is in association with Coolbus and Ski Armadillo – two great companies that make things happen. We’ve all been running for about 20 years and glad to be playing our part as key players in the tapestry that is the UK ski market. Thanks everyone!”
Tom Wilson, Director at Ski Armadillo said “Ski Armadillo are proud to be supporting Snow Camp; such an innovative and worthy youth service. We hope our small donation will help empower inner-city young people through a combination of snowsports and life skills.”
Rob from Coolbus said “We’re really chuffed to have played a part in all this. When three like-minded, successful businesses put their heads together they can make a real difference!
Andrew Kimber, Switch180 Programme Manager said: “The support for Snow Camp has been overwhelming. Such a generous donation affords us the chance to offer this amazing opportunity to many more young people from Cardiff and South Wales. It will be particularly important in engaging young people for the first time in snowsports, exposing them to such an exhilarating sport and industry full of passionate people. It is an extremely positive time for Snow Camp.”
Richard Hyett (Chair) from Snowsports Cymru Wales was joined by Robin Kellen (Chief Executive) said: “Snowsport Wales have been delighted to help Snow Camp in delivering the training and support for young people across Wales, they have made such a difference to their prospects through the activities they have run and with this support from sponsors the future is bright.”
Alongside this generous donation, Snow-Forecast and Switch180 are proud to announce their new partnership for 2018.
Dan Keeley, Community Manager at Switch180 said “With Snow-Forecasts impressive reputation as the number one snow-forecasting site in the UK, we’re looking forward to working closely with Dan [Evans] and his team to engage their audience with our work and celebrating together as we change the lives of more inner-city young people in Cardiff and the surrounding areas over the coming years.”
