Arbuthnot Latham host exclusive dinner with Sir Clive Woodward in support of Switch180

On Monday 2nd October 2017, Arbuthnot Latham opened its doors to host an exclusive dinner in support of our programme Snow Camp, with special guest and supporter of the charity Sir Clive Woodward.

Guest were welcomed by Arbuthnot Latham’s Director of International Private Banking, Ross Mitchell and enjoyed a Champagne reception before being seated in the Bank’s boardroom. Director and Founder of Switch180, Dan Charlish, spoke to the guests about our work with inner-city young people, before showing our BBC Ski Sunday feature, which aired on the show earlier this year. The video, which was narrated by Switch180 Patron Jenny Jones, tells the story of one Snow Camp young person who is now a professional ski instructor in Verbier. Watch it here.

Sir Clive Woodward treated guests to an insightful and interactive talk regarding the DNA of a champion, drawing upon his iconic win as England rugby coach in the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Two of our apprentices. Hamza and Laquan, then shared how we have helped them to turn their lives around and how they are grateful for the support offered by the charity.

Sir Clive said: “I have been so impressed to learn about Switch180’s innovative work with young people and I am delighted to support the charity and its vision. During the evening I met some of the young people they have supported and it was inspiring to hear first-hand how the combination of snowsports activities, vocational training and qualifications has completely changed their lives. I hope the charity goes from strength to strength and achieves its goal of delivering their highly effective programmes nationally.”

Ross Mitchell added: “A fantastic dinner held at Arbuthnot Latham to raise awareness for Snow Camp. Thank you to Sir Clive Woodward and Dan Charlish who led the evening with their presentations. I am sure we will all remember TCUP now thanks to Sir Clive, and to have Dan speak with participants from the charity to our guests made the charity come to life. A truly fantastic evening was had by all. I hope the charity raises the awareness it rightly deserves.”
