The AJ Bell 3 Valley Rally Supporting Snow Camp

The 3 Valley Rally will take place in stunning Val Thorens, and we can now confirm we will be taking over one of the most prestigious hotels in the Alps, Le Fitz Roy.

The 5* Le Fitz Roy sits at the heart of Europe’s highest ski resort, and will be open only to teams taking part in the 3 Valley Rally and raising funds to support Snow Camp’s work with young people – and we can’t wait to welcome our supporters to this special venue.

As its our 20th year, we are looking for a minimum of 20 teams to join us at the event and make it our biggest alpine fundraiser ever. Maybe in the past you have been part of one of our Alpine Challenge events in Morzine; or entered our Courmayeur Classic or Crans Montana Marathon; or maybe you are new to our events and want to enter a team for the first time – everyone is welcome and the 3 Valley Rally is the event for your diaries for next winter season. Sponsored by our wonderful long term supporters AJ Bell, and in partnership with luxury Hotel company Beaumier, the 3 Valley Rally combines many of the exciting activities you would expect from our alpine fundraising events – but also with some new next-level experiences too.

First, our base for the event. The 5* Le Fitz Roy is an amazing hotel which we have secured for our sole use for this event following a number of years of partnership with our friends at Beaumier Hotels. They are looking forward to showing our teams what Beaumier hospitality is all about, and with ALL teams staying at the Hotel, the atmosphere will be fantastic. Luxurious rooms, a Michelin starred chef, a top of the range spa, ski in / ski out access, our own huge terrace overlooking the mountains…it is the perfect base to help us raise this event to new levels!

As a charity, we are fortunate to be supported by some of the biggest names in the UK snowsports industry and beyond -and we’re delighted that to let you know that we will have a number of VIP guests taking part in the event including Jenny Jones, Chemmy Alcott, Graham Bell, Ed Leigh, Warren Smith, Jamie Barrow, Emily Sarsfield and more big names to follow!

Next the event itself. With the dates being later in the season, and with Val Thorens sitting at 3200m, we give ourselves the best chance of sunny days and great snow.

 

 

 

 

The valley is huge, massive ski runs will keep everyone very happy – and we already have a number of fantastic partners in place for all the activities that teams will be taking on as part of the challenge.

We kick off on Saturday evening with a wonderful Welcome Dinner and drinks with all teams, hosted at Le Fitz Roy restaurant with the Michelin starred Head Chef Jose Bailly (below) overseeing proceedings.

3 Valley Rally

Afterwards, the classy and cosy bar area will be perfect for some last-minute planning and strategy discussions before we launch the event first thing Sunday morning. As always, teams will compete for the AJ Bell 3 Valley Rally cup over 2 full days (Sunday and Monday) by taking on multiple snow sports activities across the resort, including biathlon, a snowshoe hike, downhill parallel slalom racing, a team distance challenge, orienteering and more. We also have a new addition, the Zip Wire challenge. Val Thorens hosts Europe’s longest Zip Wire, so it would be rude not to include it in the event somehow, right? We think our teams will love it!

Exclusive après ski sessions

As well as the two non-stop days of ski challenges, each enabling teams to collect points towards the title – we will be arranging some fantastic apres-ski sessions too.

These get started after Day 1, at our own private terrace at Le Fitz Roy, where the 80’s will be in full effect, think DJ’s, neon outfits, pizzas, rose and a great chance for teams to share stories from the first day of the event.

Then after Day 2 our friends at the Folie Douce will be putting aside a private terrace for our teams at their own unique apres ski session. Say no more. Then it is a quick ski (or gondala) down to the Hotel, before our top fundraisers and event winners will be celebrated at the Awards Dinner back at Le Fitz Roy. The private party in the Hotel goes on till late with our own resident DJ’s keeping everyone entertained till the early hours.

Folie Douce, 3 Valley Rally

Teams depart on Tuesday – or of course feel free to stay out in resort for longer should you wish! Most importantly, all funds raised at this event will support Switch180 and our programme Snow Camp, working with young people across the UK.

How good do I have to be?

The event is open to all skiers and snowboarders and the resort has a huge range of runs, so if you want to stick to greens and blues, you can. Don’t worry if you have never tried some of the activities before, there will be instructors on hand for each activity, and they are all great fun to try! Even the Dual Parallel Slalom, which sometimes worries some people, is set on a lovely long blue run so everyone can have a go.

How much does it cost?

The registration fee is £500 per person or £2,000 per team of 4 and this covers your participation in all the activities that make up the event, 2 dinners and the après ski event at the Fitz Roy, lunches, your 2-day lift pass, event bibs, medals and all our support.

Our goal with the £500 per person registration fee is to be able to cover all of your costs to participate in every aspect of the event – and we aim to break even on this, so we negotiate discounted charity rates wherever we can, and any spare goes in the Après Ski pot! But just so you can see what is included (and therefore what great value it is!) please see a breakdown of what your registration fee covers here.

We know that at this point you may not have all your team members lined up – don’t worry! For now, we just require the team captains’ details and your team registration fee to secure your team place.

What about the fundraising?

Teams will each have a minimum fundraising target of £5,000 per team. This will be a one-off event with many special additions because of our 20 year anniversary – and with 20 teams involved, we are aiming to raise £100,000 for the charity’s work. With a whole year ahead to fundraise, and with our team on hand to provide you will all the support you need to reach your target, we know you can do it!

How do I book my room at Le Fitz Roy?

Firstly, please reserve your team space by filling out the registration form below. Once you have registered, we will get in touch with you to go through what rooms you require for your team.

Le Fitz Roy have generously given us a 20% discount off normal room rates, so please do get your rooms booked with us as soon as possible.

All rooms can be twinned and include free Wi-Fi, a luxurious breakfast, full access to the hotel’s luxury spa and access to the sauna and steam room facilities.

We are so pleased to have the full support of the Beaumier team, who own Le Fitz Roy, and we’re looking forward to benefitting from their wonderful hospitality. We will have the hotel exclusively, there will be no other guests apart from participants of our AJ Bell 3 Valley Rally. It will be a wonderful experience and a fantastic atmosphere!
